Although yoga is potentially therapeutic and healing, yoga therapy is the specific application of yogic tools: postures/asanas, breathwork, meditation techniques, mantra, mudra, yoga nidra, and more to address an individual's physical, psychological, and emotional needs.
A common misconception is that yoga only involves stretching or movement.
In fact, yoga therapy can help people who can't move at all, as well as active individuals. The yogic model to health is unique because it addresses every aspect of life rather than considering each body part or its systems separately.
The therapeutic relationship between the client and the practitioner
involves personalized assessment, lifestyle management, goal setting,
and individualized yoga practices.

I use the many facets of yoga, somatics, Pilates, and dynamic breath work, to collaborate with you in creating the perfect blend to challenge you, to strengthen your confidence in yourself, and most importantly to make you whole.
As a survivor of intimate partner violence, I know first hand how disembodied we become in order to withstand the constant trauma. Having been a ballerina, I was shocked at how the years of abuse had deconditioned and disconnected me from my physical form. It took time to reclaim my strength and stand strong again. Strengthening my body helped move the trauma through me so I could release it. No need to talk about it. By listening and feeling into my body's innate wisdom I was able to reclaim my body, the temple of my spirit.
