I fell in love with yoga because of Kyra. I was freshly divorced. My anxiety was at an all time high and my brain was in overdrive all the time. I had tried yoga before, but it never resonated with me until I took Kyra’s class. For one hour, all I could do was what I was prompted to do…inhale and exhale…moving my body with my breath. It changed my life in many ways. For one, I noticed I wasn’t losing it in traffic….I was coming back to my breathing. I was thinking before reacting. The other thing I noticed is I could go to her class and reset my brain. She always had some insightful thoughts about life that made me feel calm and in control of my thoughts. Kyra saved me from a life of anxiety and flying off the handle. She taught me how to regulate my thoughts and emotions. She taught me about being calm.

Although yoga is potentially therapeutic and healing, yoga therapy is the specific application of yogic tools: postures/asanas, breathwork, meditation techniques, mantra, mudra, yoga nidra, and more to address an individual's physical, psychological, and emotional needs.
A common misconception is that yoga only involves stretching or movement. In fact, yoga therapy can help people who can't move at all, as well as active individuals. The yogic model to health is unique because it addresses every aspect of life rather than considering each body part or its systems separately.
The therapeutic relationship between the client and the practitioner involves personalized assessment, lifestyle management, goal setting, and individualized yoga practices.
There is a certain alchemy created when the mind and body join. When we strengthen this bond, we stand stronger and taller in our lives. We have the courage and the backbone to stand up to the waves of the world.

I work with my clients to create transformative experiences that strengthen and often reignite the mind body connection. With 20+ years of experience, I will guide you back home. I use the many facets of yoga, somatics, Pilates, and dynamic breath work, to collaborate with you in creating the perfect blend to challenge you, to strengthen your confidence in yourself, and most importantly to make you whole.
As a survivor of intimate partner violence, I know first hand how disembodied we become in order to withstand the constant trauma. Having been a ballerina, I was shocked at how the years of abuse had deconditioned and disconnected me from my physical form. It took time to reclaim my strength and stand strong again. Strengthening my body helped move the trauma through me so I could release it. No need to talk about it. By listening and feeling into my body's innate wisdom I was able to reclaim my body, the temple of my spirit.

When we feel strong in our bodies, it deepens our belief in ourselves. It gives us the courage to trust our boundaries, our thoughts, and our decisions. Being able to anchor in our own strength helps us adapt and adjust our sails to life’s ever changing seas.
